Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Label new containers (totes, boxes, pails, tight-heads, 15's, 30's, 55's, 275- and 330-gallon totes) following provided instructions.
  • Apply lot stickers to containers that require them, or to pre-labeled containers.
  • Apply standard shipping labels under guidance; learn DOT hazard/orientation label requirements with support from a trainer.
  • Read basic work ticket/traveler information (container type, quantity) with assistance as needed.
  • Recondition tight-head containers: wash, remove old labels, mark, and store per program guidelines.
  • Support packaging department with closing, basic QC checks, and clean out.
  • Restock common-use parts and materials (pails, caps, tape, slip sheets, totes).
  • Support receiving and production as directed (offloading, sorting, moving materials).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area; empty waste bins; sweep/mop as scheduled.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and company policy.
  • Reliable attendance.
  • The Production Supervisor(s) may assign other duties.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read and follow simple written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Willingness to learn labeling standards and safety/compliance basics.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually with supervision.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • No prior labeling/production experience required. On-the-job training provided.
  • DOT General Awareness Training (49 CFR § 172.704(a)(1)) required and provided within 60 days of employment.
  • Current, valid driver's license required.
  • Occasional local travel is possible during normal work hours, specifically between company buildings.
  • Forklift certification not required at hire; company-provided training available for advancement.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • Able to work occasional overtime as needed.
